Annie

annieMeet Annie, a Treeing Walker Coonhound with an attitude – and what a great attitude it is! Annie is happy, friendly and she wants to be the star of the show – always. Annie is 6 years old, she has a tad too many pounds on her medium-sized frame, and she’s a friend to everybody she meets – kids, cats, dogs, you name it! Annie is simply awesome, so hurry down to the Conway Area Humane Society shelter and see this lovely lady for yourself.

Moxie

m2
Moxie has a sweet, friendly personality but is a bit shy and prefers the comfort of her cube for now. Moxie is *declawed and needs to be an indoor-cat only.  Moxie loves to be petted, and she is so cute as she angles herself for the best scratching spot.  Her fur is bunny soft.  Can you imagine this lovely lady sitting beside you on the sofa! Like sugar and spice, she will add sweetness and zest to  your life.

Princess

pPRINCESS has sleek black fur with feathery white hairs and other patches of white. She has a regal look with her slender physique and she looks so graceful, but she is no diva! She has a sweet, demure nature and doesn’t take anything for granted.  She enjoys being petted and doesn’t mind being held.  She’ll reward with purrs and maybe a few head butts in appreciation. She is currently being treated for an eye ulcer, but it does not affect her health or attitude. Princess would really enjoy a cozy spot on the sofa next to you!

Baby

BabyBABY is a gorgeous tortoiseshell with big gold eyes and the softest fur that has so many beautiful autumnal colors.  She is just right for the season and would look perfect sitting on a fireplace hearth or snuggling on a sofa! Baby has a quiet composure and dignity about her, and with those “eyeliner” eyes, she has a certain mystique as well.  While she is friendly and enjoys being petted, she’s still adjusting to shelter life and gets a little nervous by sudden noises or another feline passerby.  She just needs a little time to figure things out. She would prefer a quiet home without other cats and a loving human to devote all her time.

Dodger

dodgerWhat a very fine gentleman Dodger is! He’s a 6-year-old chocolate Lab through and through, he’s very outgoing, a friend to all – kids, cats, dogs, gerbils – and, boy, does he like to move! Dodger would be right at home in a family of any sort which is active in a big way (hiking, jogging, ball-throwing, etc.) and we can guarantee he’ll be as enthusiastic as anyone else there. (Now, we should disclose that Dodger has a long-time girlfriend by the name of Ginger, who is also adoptable here at the shelter, and while they’re both adoptable separately, if someone were to come along who could keep these two lovebirds together, that someone would receive a gazillion brownie points.) Dodger is a super-sweetie and we know his forever friends are out there, so come introduce yourself to the Animal Rescue League shelter in Conway and spend some time with Dodger (and Ginger??)!

Rita

Meet Rita!! Rita is one-half of “Marga-Rita”. Their owner moved overseas and was very sad to leave them behind. We are hoping that someone really nice, with a fairly quiet, dog-free home comes along soon and falls in love with one or both of these cuddly and beautiful young kitties. Her sister Marga is on the timid side and she really needs Rita to help feel secure (hint-hint).

Rita has an enchanting spirit! This love bug is easy-going, cuddly, playful and a “talker”. She purrs up a storm, has the cutest meow and is very affectionate. She enjoys attention and favors chasing strings, feathers and laser pointers! She is the epitome of a lap cat. She needs a stable, loving environment where she will receive lots of love and where she will know she is in her forever home. Come meet this sweetie! She hopes to become the love of your life!

If you have lots of love and a home to share with this sweetie, we would love to hear from you, please call us at 603-447-5955 or email info@conwayshelter.org. Rita has recently been moved to our local pet store, Four Your Paws Only, in Conway, hoping to find her forever family, visit her there or contact us for more information on this beauty!

Bandit

Simply put, Bandit is a HOOT! He’s a medium-large, 2-year-old, tri-color treeing walker coonhound who would no doubt receive the title of Class Clown in his obedience course. Bandit loves attention and he has all sorts of tricks to be sure he gets some, but don’t worry – every one of them will make you smile. He is a hound, of course, so he certainly has a mind of his own, but it’s a comical and kind mind and nothing is ever done with malice; Bandit is as sweet as they come. He’s a big fan of other dogs and kids, too, so he would no doubt slide right into his new home with no trouble at all. Bandit can’t wait to meet his new forever friend or friends and to go on a long walk with them where he can show off his great personality, so zip on down to meet him at the Animal Rescue League shelter in Conway!

Bullet

bulletHave you ever considered fostering-to-adopt a pet? Well, let us introduce Bullet, a fine example of a shar pei/pit bull who lives with a variety of conditions which require some special care for a while, but which will clear up after a short period of time. Bullet is 6 years old, very friendly to all, including dogs, cats and kids, and we like to think of him as the best of a shar pei in the body of a pit bull. He’s a happy guy, even though he has very little vision left, but no matter – he’ll make a party out of a dog bed, if he can. Take note: Bullet doesn’t bark – he scruggles – and if you’re not familiar with scruggling, you must come in and meet this gentleman and ask him to scruggle for you. You won’t believe your ears! If you think you’ve got a foster home for Bullet, please come in to the Animal Rescue League shelter in Conway and see if you two are a good fit – a little bit of scruggling between the two of you should answer any questions you may have.

Marga

Meet Marga!! She is one-half of Marga-Rita. Marga is so happy that Rita is with her because everything at the shelter is so new and confusing . . . and somewhat scary! There she was, living happily with her human mom in a quiet indoor home, when everything changed. Mom decided to move overseas! The trip would have been scary for the cats, so here they are looking for another wonderful person who is calm, gentle, patient, loving, and understanding. Just like they are!

Long ago they were found as little homeless kittens and have always turned to each other for comfort. Do you have a quiet home (without dogs) for a couple of loving gals? Marga is cuddler and wants to be sitting near you rather than here alone at night. She love, love, loves being brushed. Please come meet this beauty!

Jackson

JacksonIntroducing Jackson, a fine example of an older, distinguished boxer/pit bull mix who sports a handsome brindle-colored coat. He has seen a good bit of life in his 12 years, so he’s got quite a sense of humor and is now an easygoing kind of guy who’s up for almost anything. But don’t let that mention of 12 years fool you! Jackson is as quick on his feet as he’s ever been and is as playful as many of his, ahem, more youthful pals, of which he has many. Jackson’s got the tricks to keep you amused — he’ll sit, high-five, and even beg (CUTE!) — but he also has the manners of a well-trained furry friend and he’s learned that it’s just not worth it in the long run to push the limits on anything. Jackson would be a great addition to any active household; he’ll run and pal around with everyone, from the kids to the other four-legged family members. Jackson will prove without a doubt that age is only a number and that he has every intention of being around for a good long time yet. Come meet this love bug; after only a minute or two, you’ll find you can’t stop grinning (and so will he).
